TORONTO, March 16, 2015 /CNW/ - MasterCard today announced
the appointment of Brian Lang as the
new President of its Canadian operations.
In his new role, Lang will be charged with driving the regional
strategy to expand and grow the business while delivering new
payments technology in the market. He was most recently the
head of business development for MasterCard in the Middle East and Africa. In this role he expanded card
acceptance in markets like Egypt,
Nigeria, Pakistan while establishing payment
innovations like new wallet platforms in United Arab Emirates and South Africa. Lang returns to
Canada having previously worked
for LANG + Assoc., Aeroplan, Air Canada, and CIBC.
"Brian will be a strong leader for us in Canada. He has a deep understanding of
the Canadian market and the payments industry with a long track
record of success in serving customers around the world. He
will continue to deliver growth and differentiate MasterCard as we
expand and launch new payment technologies in the market," said
Chris McWilton, President, North
American Markets.
Lang is a graduate of the University of
British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts. He is a Six Sigma
Master Black Belt and has served on Junior Achievement Boards in 3
regions leaving the Chairmanship of JA Africa. Brian also serves as
a trustee on the Adair Trust.

and expand the reach in the Canadian market," said Brian Lang.
Lang will assume his responsibilities on May 1, 2015. He succeeds Betty DeVita who moves on to the new role of
Chief Commercial Officer with MasterCard Labs. In her new
role, DeVita will be responsible for developing and managing
strategic partnerships focused on commercializing existing and
future pipeline of MasterCard Lab assets.
