Twitter said on a conference call with analysts it will be
bringing back its analyst day after a long pause--to be held
virtually Feb. 25--with no explanation around timing.
According to FactSet, Twitter's last analyst day was held in
February 2014, under previous CEO Dick Costolo, who then outlined
his goal "to build the largest daily audience in the world."
Twitter's monetizable daily users of 187 million as of the end
of the third quarter compares with 249 million for Snapchat and
more than 1.8 billion for Facebook.
Twitter shares continued to fall further during its conference
call in after-hours trading on Thursday, as management fielded
questions from analysts on slowing daily user growth after monster
second-quarter growth of 34%. Twitter noted that, while it would
like to grow users at that level every quarter, it isn't always
possible.
