I’m sure you’ve probably already listened to the Goldmans webcast on Nvidia’s website. It was great especially the last 10 minutes. Goldmans CEO flew in that morning to personally interview Jensen, that is when you have some horsepower

the real profit taking in NVDA hasnt even begin yet

its the #1 most crowded trade all year

remember when PYPL hit $300? lol

remember when ZM hit $500?

NVDA great company, but the way people pile into it and manipulate the averages with it to the upside is almost done playing out

the momentum on the downside will be amazing and it will take most of tech down with it once it officially begins

its becoming a mature company and it will no longer gain insane amounts of market cap to the upside from here, the math just doesnt work

most of big tech has loaded up on GPUs and CHIPS, they dont have endless amounts of money either so i expect that chip stocks have likely topped out whether people want to believe it or not, if Kamala Harris wins the election, the market will drop 10% in november

NVDA can move the whole market. Bear that in mind...it will have greater meaning in the near future. It works both ways and is magnified when something substantial occurs. NVDA is like the ocean tide where all the boats rise or fall with the tide. Get next week's Fed decision out of the way, and see how BOJ responds, etc. I'm pleased NVDA is doing well as one can acquire puts at a bargain. Positioning now for what's coming🙂 I currently don't have any "September exposure" to $NVDA. It's open season on both bulls/bears. - All my options are for Oct-Feb. The sooner this crash happens the greener my accounts will be🙂

It's amazing that "one stock" can have such an impact on the entire world. It's also dangerous.

Its about having control of the population more so than the economy and markets.

Don't allow the markets to tank until after you have your desired elected official in office. It makes zero sense until you look at why they want this, and then it becomes crystal clear.

Yes, it is possible that the banking problems may be bigger than they can control. But they will try to hold it together through the election cycle.

If the economy crashes before the election, (and that would include NVDA going down with it), then votes would flow to the guy who had a good economy. That is not something the powers to be want, so they will do everything possible to keep it together for the next two months.

There’s probably no other CEO or corporate officer other than Jensen, who could move an index like the NASDAQ and have others talk about him moving the market with the possible exception of Warren Buffett.

I certainly didn’t remotely suspect that Jensen talking at a Goldman Sachs conference could possibly have any effect on the NASDAQ index.

Jensen Saves The Day: Nvidia CEO Sparks Market Meltup, Sends NVDA $250 Billion Higher
👍️ 1
tw0122 tw0122 19 hours ago
Not so fast charts and resistances first all that matter of course add the news from today..

... a soundbite from NVDA CEO Jensen Huang saved the day yet again.

As quoted by Bloomberg, Huang said that “the demand on [chips] is so great, and everyone wants to be first and everyone wants to be most." He added that “we probably have more emotional customers today. Deservedly so. It’s tense. We’re trying to do the best we can.”

Huang also said that Nvidia leans heavily on Taiwan Semiconductor for production of its most important chips and does so because that company is the best in its field by a large margin. But geopolitical tension has raised risks. China sees TSMC’s home island as a rogue province, stoking concerns that it might try to reclaim the territory. That could potentially cut off Nvidia from the key supplier.

Huang also said he develops much of the company’s technology in-house and that should allow Nvidia to switch orders to alternative suppliers. Still, such a change would likely result in a reduction in quality of his chips.

TSMC’s “agility and their capability to respond to our needs is just incredible,” he said. “And so we use them because they’re great, but if necessary, of course, we can always bring up others.”

After listening to the Goldman Sachs/Nvidia tech from Jensen, I came to the following conclusions:
It was an excellent presentation from Jensen and worth listening to. I actually listened to the very end.
I learned a little more about his/companies philosophy and their direction

Anyone who states the technology hasn't/isn't paying for itself doesn't have any understanding as to what it does and accomplishes. Much of the benefits can't be measured in current point in time but benefits will escalate over time.

Forward and backward compatibility over technology base along with power and space savings while increasing capability.

I would have liked to hear more details about scaling up the Blackwell chips. I am convinced production volume will ramp in Q4 but still unsure of the volume. 40k/month by years end but would have liked to have heard some time of confirmation. The Blackwell is quite a leap in performance and technology.

I'm sure the reason for the surge in NVDA is due to the broadcast of the event.

Nvidia share price Bearish Signal Reversed on 11-Sep-2024. GLTA

PS1: A bit surprising. This came right after the Low Pole Reversal yesterday.

PS2: Market Chatter: Nvidia May Get US Government Nod to Export Advanced Chips to Saudi Arabia
13:46:23 PM ET, 09/11/2024 - MT Newswires
01:46 PM EDT, 09/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia (NVDA) may receive approval from the US government to begin shipping chips to Saudi Arabia for artificial intelligence workloads, Semafor reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The government had barred the company from exporting advanced chips to the country over concerns that China, which has close ties to Saudi Arabia, could gain access to the hardware.

Saudi Arabia is working to satisfy US security demands in order to receive the necessary hardware to build its own large scale AI models, the report said.

Nvidia declined to comment to MT Newswires while the US Commerce Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

You may right. They're "trying" to prop up til election, However the global problem may be bigger than Fed can control. A real-life game of Jenga is in progress.

I currently don't have any "September exposure" to $NVDA. It's open season on both bulls/bears...traps everywhere. - All my options are for Oct-Feb. The sooner this crash happens the greener my accounts will be🙂

I'm not sure on the Fed rates. They may surprise and not cut rates at all. The 50bps is right thing, but who knows...

Largest bank just warned of large impending losses on defaults, etc (hard to rally into this):

This administration will trade long term stability for short term gain. They will twist Powell's arm to get the 50bps rate cut.

Of course, if this happens it will insure rampant inflation in the near future.

A short term gain (boost economy before election) at the expense of long term stability.

$2-$3M is still a lot. Due to the size of the chip, I would imagine they would have around a 50% from a wafer. That's still a lot of money. Some companies like Super Micro may like such a device. Yes, companies like Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft my like it for their cloud computing. It will have to go through a lot of testing/validation along with support software to go along with it.

I'm hoping Jensen will update on the volume shipments starting in Q4. I had read they were looking at 40k/month on the Blackwell by end of year. TSM is supposed to be doubling that in 2025. I currently believe they have over 1M backlog for the Blackwell (most likely combined B100, B200, and GB200). On a 12" wafer and due to the size of the B200, The yield at 100% utilization is around 63. But I'm going to assume (which is reality) they're getting around 60% which would be good for the complexity. The size of the B200 is 1600 Sq. mm. It takes a lot of wafers to yield the 40k/month. I think what might be holding the stock down is there is still doubt in whether Nvidia can come close to meeting a decent portion of the monthly requirements. As stated, their backlog runs through 2025. I'm not sure if my numbers are accurate since I don't really know the yields but knowing the size of the B200 and the usable area on a 12" wafer, one can calculate the number.

Competition for NVDA?

"Cerebras chips is groundbreaking in specific scenarios, particularly AI inference, where the chip can process inputs at speeds reportedly 20 times faster than Nvidia's solutions. This is due to the direct integration of memory and processing power, which allows for faster data retrieval and processing without the inter-chip data transfer delays."
