Unilever Acquires Maker of Eco-Friendly Cleaning and Laundry Products

Unilever NV (UN) on Monday said it has acquired The Laundress,
maker of eco-friendly laundry and cleaning products,
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
The Laundress, founded in 2004 and based in New York City, has a
portfolio of 85 products. Unilever said the acquisition "expands
Unilever's portfolio in the growing top end of the Home Care market
and fits greatly with Unilever's Sustainable Living Plan."
Unilever also said The Laundress will keep its headquarters in
New York City and the brands co-founders, Gwen Whiting and Lindsey
Boyd, will remain to run the business, including The Laundress' New
York flagship store.
