LOS ANGELES, April 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- How do
we find talent for the 4.3 million unfilled jobs in tech by 2030?
It starts with fostering STEM education in the younger generations.
The California Senator for the
29th District, Ling Ling Chang,
since taking office has demonstrated a strong commitment to
technology, reflected in being named California's inaugural STEMx Policy Fellow --
part of a multi-state effort to put an emphasis on STEM education –
as well as a "Tech Champion" by the Computing Technology Industry
Association.
Senator Chang's upcoming initiative, the inaugural California Senate App Challenge Awards
Ceremony, will expose K-12 students to coding and engage them in
STEM fields. The event will showcase apps devised by students and
provide them with the opportunity to learn from inspirational
leaders in STEM.
Marc Fischer, CEO of mobile app
development company Dogtown Media, will deliver the keynote address
at the Awards Ceremony, to inspire, educate and foster a passion
for technology in the next generation.
Marc Fischer stated, 'It is an
honor to be afforded this opportunity to speak to the next
generation about the power of technology to change lives, both
their own and the wider communities. I thank Senator Chang for
their commitment and advocacy for STEM education to drive the
innovation and jobs growth for future generations."
