MBDA Missile Systems said Tuesday that it won a 400 million pound ($568 million) contract to supply the U.K. with Brimstone air-to-surface missiles, extending the use of the weapon beyond 2030.

Under the program, MBDA said it will make Brimstone missiles for the U.K. armed forces, restoring their inventory. The missiles will be carried by Typhoon fighter jets and are also expected to arm the new Apache attack helicopters and Protector RPAS--remotely piloted air systems.

MBDA is jointly owned by Airbus SE (AIR.FR), BAE Systems PLC (BA.LN) and Leonardo SpA (LDO.MI).
