Macy's Inc. (M) said Monday it brought together almost 800
business partners to discuss and provide an update on industry
trends, innovations and initiatives.
Macy's said a "program to enhance the customer experience" that
encompassed 50 stores last year has been expanded to an additional
100 stores this year.
"With the continued success of this initiative, Macy's plans to
add additional locations in 2020," the company said.
The retailer also said it was offering, for a limited time, free
same-day delivery in select markets, for orders totaling $75 or
more. Macy's said the end date and time of the limited offer will
be at its discretion, after which "items eligible for the service
with purchases totaling $75 or more can be delivered same day for
an $8 fee."
Orders placed prior to noon Monday through Saturday or before 10
a.m. Sunday will be received the same day. Other orders will be
delivered the following day, the company said.
Macy's also said an agreement with Zola, a site for wedding
planning, will see the companies launch a wedding registry pilot
partnership in November.
The retailer also said its seventh annual "Buy a Coat and We'll
Donate One" campaign will begin Wednesday, Oct. 9, and run through
Oct. 14. For every coat purchased, Macy's will donate a brand new
coat, up to 35,000, to nonprofit Clothes4Souls.
