International Business Machines Corp. said Wednesday it has
agreed to buy WDG Solucoes Em Sistemas E Automacao De Processos
LTDA, a Brazilian software company focused on robotic process
automation.
The price for the acquisition wasn't disclosed.
IBM said it plans to embed WDG's products into its existing
artificial-intelligence-focused capabilities across business
processes and information-technology operations, allowing chief
operating and chief information officers at companies to tap
broader access to intelligent automation through software
robots.
WDG, based in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Brazil, provides robotic
process automation, interactive voice response technology, chatbots
and other services, mostly to clients in Latin America, IBM
said.
