BELLINGHAM, Wash., March 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In cooperation
with the Taylor Farms recall of diced yellow onions that may be
contaminated with Salmonella, 12 Haggen stores are
voluntarily recalling deli products that contain raw Taylor Farms
brand diced yellow onions.
Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and
sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly
people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons
infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea
(which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In
rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in
the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe
illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms),
endocarditis, and arthritis.
The following recalled products were sold in the deli from the
full-service and/or self-service cases and packaged in clear
containers. The sell-by date was printed on the scale label that is
affixed to the product's packaging:
