Lloyds Banking Group PLC has told its 65,000 employees to work
from home until spring.
The blue-chip bank's home-working advice comes as the U.K.
government continues to grapple with a second wave of Covid-19
cases across the country.
"In line with guidance from the U.K. and national governments,
and given the majority of our colleagues are working from home, we
have asked them to continue to do so until at least spring," a
spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group said.
The news was first reported by The Mail on Sunday.
The city of London has seen a marked drop in activity as the
government told companies that employees should continue to work
from home where possible. Bars, pubs and small businesses in the
financial district have been hit hard as a result.
In light of this, the City of London Corp. published a set of
recommendations on Oct. 20 to "reinvent" London post pandemic. One
of the recommendations includes creating an outreach network for
small and medium-sized enterprises hit hard by the crisis.
