Revolutionary waste technology for Wrexham

Compact Power wishes to draw attention to the following announcement made by HLC
Wrexham Limited ("HLC") today:

"HLC has responded to concerns about its proposed waste recycling and recovery
facility for Wrexham.

HLC's proposals in relation to recycling and in vessel composting remain
unchanged, however, they intend to replace the energy from waste incinerator
with a small scale revolutionary advanced thermal treatment facility developed
and operated by Bristol based Compact Power. After waste is recycled or
composted a Compact Power plant will produce heat and qualifying renewable
power.

Compact Power have spent over 10 years developing its technology which has
aroused worldwide interest, and for nearly two years has successfully operated
its first commercial plant at Avonmouth, Bristol. Based on the well proven
processes of pyrolysis, gasification, and high temperature oxidation, the
process efficiently captures energy and sets new standards for emissions that
are well within the strictest limits anywhere in the world.

Horacio Luis Cavalho, Chairman of HLC says; "We have listened to the concerns
about incineration and are responding both by seeking to reduce the volumes of
residual waste from our recycling and composting plant, and also including a
"state of the art" Compact Power renewable energy plant. This will ensure that
Wrexham not only meets its recycling targets, but also uses its waste to achieve
renewable energy objectives.

John Action, Chief Executive of Compact Power comments; "We are delighted that
we have the opportunity to be included in HLC's proposal, as the preferred
bidder, to supply an integrated waste management facility in Wrexham. As a
company we pride ourselves on our ability to work with local communities.
Nearly 3,000 visitors have seen our plant at Avonmouth, and we look forward to
meeting and working with interested parties in the Wrexham area.""
