Deutsche Boerse AG said Friday that it has extended the contract
of Chief Executive Theodor Weimer until the end of 2024 in a vote
of confidence in his leadership.
Mr. Weimer joined the German stock-exchange operator two years
ago and his contract was due to expire at the end of this year.
Joachim Faber, chairman of Deutsche Boerse's supervisory board,
called his leadership convincing.
"He has driven the growth of the company, significantly
increased the share price, re-motivated our workforce and gained a
high reputation among all our stakeholders in politics and
society," Mr. Faber said.
