Target Corp. Chief Information Officer Michael McNamara said he
intends to retire next year.
Mr. McNamara joined the big-box retailer in 2015, taking the
reins from prior CIO Bob DeRodes and helping to guide the company
through a large data breach in 2013. Prior to Target, he was the
information chief at U.K.-based supermarket chain Tesco PLC.
Since joining the company, Mr. McNamara has helped bring the
retailer's software development in-house and focus on technology
projects that help drive revenue growth, such as those related to
online shopping and same-day delivery or pickup.
Combined traffic to Target's stores and website increased 12.7%
for the second quarter.
Mr. McNamara will remain in the CIO position until the company
can find a replacement and will also help facilitate the
transition, the company said in a securities filing.
