"On behalf of all of us at Head Start, we give a huge thank you
to Navient and the Navient Foundation for their dedication and
continued commitment to our community's most vulnerable children
and families," said Lynn Evans Biga, executive director, Luzerne
County Head Start. "The funding from Navient helps us to provide
additional programming for children and families. We prioritize
activities that promote health and wellness and parent and child
bonding. You help us to be successful and for that we are forever
grateful."
Twenty-four teams consisting of up to four golfers each attended
the tournament in Mountain Top, Pa. to show their support. In
addition, more than 90 different companies provided sponsorship and
gift donations for raffle drawings and other prizes.
Throughout the years, Navient has raised about $100,000 for
Luzerne County Head Start through its annual golf event.
"The annual Navient Golf Tournament is a great way for the
community to get together for some friendly competition for a good
cause," said Jeffrey Stine, vice president, Navient. "We are proud
to have Luzerne County Head Start in our community and to be able
to support them again this year."
