Waymo, the self-driving car unit of Google parent Alphabet Inc
(GOOGL), has acquired U.K. startup Latent Logic, the two companies
said on Twitter.
The startup, founded in 2017, is based in Oxford, where Waymo
will base its first engineering hub in Europe.
"We're delighted to share that Latent Logic has been acquired by
Waymo," Latent Logic said.
The companies didn't disclose the financial details of the
deal.
Latent Logic, which develops technology to test self-driving
vehicles, "uses imitation learning to simulate realistic models of
human behavior on the road--key to developing safe self-driving
vehicles," Waymo said.
