Air Liquide SA (AI.FR) said Tuesday it signed a new long-term contract to supply hydrogen to Covestro AG (1COV.XE) at the polymer manufacturer's site near Antwerp, Belgium.

In connection to the deal, Air Liquide will invest 80 million euros ($98.9 million) into the construction of a hydrogen-production unit, the industrial-gases company said.

The new unit is expected to start operation in 2020, Air Liquide said.
