LONDON--SSE PLC (SSE.LN) said Monday that it has secured agreements to provide 4,451 megawatt of electricity in the 2017 capacity market auction, and added that it is reviewing future options for its Peterhead power station located near Boddam, Scotland, due to its failure to secure a contract in the last three capacity market auctions.

The London-listed company said the review of Peterhead station will not impact current operations at the station.

The energy company has provisionally secured agreements to provide 840 megawatt of electricity from hydro electric and pumped storage plants and 3,611 megawatt of electricity from coal, gas-fired and embedded power generating plants.

The auction was cleared at a price of 6.95 pounds ($8.67) per kilowatt and the total value secured by SSE is GBP30.9 million.
