ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SALE OF COMPONENT INDUSTRIES LIMITED

SEP Industrial Holdings plc ("SEP") announces that it has completed the sale
of Component Industries Limited ("CIL") and its subsidiaries to Component
Industries Holdings Limited, a company in which the majority shareholders are
CIL directors.

The sale was approved by the shareholders of SEP at the extraordinary general
meeting held today.  Details of the sale may be found in the document posted
to shareholders on 14 March 2001.
