Old Mutual South Africa Trust plc ("Company")

At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today 13 February 2007,
the resolutions put to shareholders in respect of the voluntary winding-up of
the Company were duly passed.  Accordingly, the Company has been placed in
members' voluntary liquidation (solvent liquidation) and Jeremy Spratt and
Finbarr O'Connell of KPMG LLP have been appointed joint liquidators of the
Company.

The suspension of Shares from trading on the London Stock Exchange and
suspension of the listing of the Shares on the Official List occurred at 7.30
a.m. on 13 February 2007.

The liquidators expect the first interim cash distribution to Shareholders to be
declared and paid on or around 20 February 2007 at a value of approximately 192p
per share.

The Company will file with the UK Listing Authority a copy of the resolution
passed at today's meeting shortly.  This will be available through the Document
