International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Wednesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts closed unchanged at 151.73. The European index fell 0.2% to 151.29, the Asian index increased 0.2% to 166.96, the Latin American index climbed 0.9% to 190.12 and the emerging markets index gained 0.4% to 275.55.

ADRs of Evotec closed up 11% to $10.34 after the German biotechnology company said its Seattle-based subsidiary Just-Evotec Biologics would enter into a partnership with Sandoz, a unit of Novartis, to develop and manufacture biosimilar medicines.

ADRs of Credit Agricole gained 4.4% to $6.36 after the French lender reported a better-than-expected net profit for the first quarter

ADRs of Continental finished up 3.5% to $7.19 after the car-parts manufacturer's first-quarter results beat expectations, overcoming what it called adverse market conditions, and maintained its guidance.
