The Pentagon on Tuesday said Raytheon Technologies Corp., Pratt
and Whitney Military Engines received a modification not to exceed
$4,385,492,639 to an existing contract for propulsion systems for
the Joint Strike Fighter.
The modification calls for the production and delivery of
propulsion systems along with long lead-time components, parts, and
materials, the Pentagon said. The modification also "provides
global spares requirements to include spare engines, power modules,
and other hardware," the Pentagon said.
In addition, the modification provides a Block 4 Short Take-Off
Vertical Landing developmental test engine for flight test efforts,
according to the Pentagon.
Work will be performed in a number of locations, including East
Hartford, Conn., Indianapolis and Kent, Wash.
