LyondellBasell (LYB) reported a compressor trip over the weekend
that led to above-normal emissions at its refinery in Houston.
In a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality,
the refinery said the incident was at the "#736 Coker Unit" of the
refinery and that the emissions of sulfur dioxide and hydrogen
sulfide happened Sunday and lasted about four hours. It said the
compressor has since been re-started.
The 264,000-barrel-a-day Houston refinery covers 700 acres.
