DETROIT, May 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy (NYSE:
DTE) named Ruth G. Shaw lead
independent director of the board, effective immediately. Shaw
replaces James B. Nicholson as he
retires from the Board of Directors.
Shaw has served on the Board of Directors for DTE Energy since
2008. Her qualifications include extensive experience in the
electric industry, service on corporate boards, participation in
industry associations, and significant knowledge of corporate
governance, executive compensation, regulatory matters, public
policy and corporate communications. In addition, Shaw has served
as the chair of the DTE Energy Corporate Governance Committee since
2014, as a member of the Nuclear Review Committee since 2008, and
on the Organization & Compensation Committee since 2008.

Shaw retired from Duke Energy Corporation in April 2007, where she served in a series of
senior executive roles, including president and CEO of Duke Power
Company. In addition, she served on the boards of the Nuclear
Energy Institute, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, and
the Edison Electric Institute.
Shaw earned her Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) and a Master
of Arts degree from East Carolina
University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
