PLYMOUTH, Mich., Dec. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Adient,
the world's largest global automotive seating supplier, made an
Ypsilanti Township family new
homeowners. The company's employee volunteers renovated a home
through Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley for Christina Thomas and her family.
This year's Adient-sponsored home now belongs to Thomas and her
two children, Cam'ron, 10, and Chanel, 7. Thomas has been teaching
pre-kindergarten for 10 years and plans to continue her education.
She will close on her home on Dec. 20
and the family will move in the week after Christmas.
"I realize none of this would have been possible without the
generous donation from my sponsor, Adient," said Thomas.
Adient has been supporting Habitat for Humanity homes for eight
years. The automotive supplier donated the money to reconstruct the
house and its employees spent months donating their time to build
the one-story, 860-square-foot home.
"Adient has been a strong supporter of the important work of
Habitat for Humanity for many years. Our employees are always eager
to help make a family's dream of homeownership come true," said
Russ Burgei, vice president of
engineering for Adient, and the company's Habitat project
leader.
"We'd like to thank Adient for sponsoring the Thomas family's
new home. We are so grateful for your continued financial and
volunteer support. You helped us provide families with strength,
stability and self-reliance through shelter," said Sarah Stanton, executive director of Habitat for
Humanity of Ypsilanti
Township.
Adient (NYSE: ADNT) debuted as an independent, publically traded
company after its separation from Johnson Controls on Oct. 31, 2016. The company, now located in
Plymouth, Mich., recently
announced it will move its global headquarters to Detroit.
