•    Shares of bio-pharma company Affymax Inc. (NASDAQ:AFFY) increased 19.24% after FDA found Affymax's experimental anemia medication is as effective as drugs by Amgen, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN)

•    Discovery Group LLC announced it had acquired a 5.8% stake in software maker Intralinks Holdings Inc. (NYSE:IL). Following this development, shares of Intralinks Holdings gained 9.63% to close at $5.69

•    Share prices of web-based software company SuccessFactors Inc. (NYSE:SFSF) sky rocketed 51.43% after  SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) said it would buy the company in a deal worth $3.4 billion

•    Pharma company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s (NASDAQ:REGN) share prices fell 5.53% after a study found no major difference between its Eylea medicine and a Roche Holding AG drug to treat an eye disorder

•    U.S. life insurance company MetLife, Inc. (NYSE:MET) said earnings will probably rise in 2012 as CEO Steven Kandarian modifies management a year after the firm’s biggest takeover
