Air Liquide SA said Wednesday that it is taking a 40% stake in H2V Normandy, a company that plans to build a production plant for renewable and low-carbon hydrogen in France.

The French industrial-gas supplier said it is acquiring the stake in the company, a subsidiary of H2V Product, in order to contribute to the decarbonization of the industry and mobility markets. H2V Normandy is planning to build an electrolyzer complex of up to 200 megawatts in the French region of Normandy, Air Liquide said. The facility will supply renewable and low-carbon hydrogen for industrial applications and future heavy mobility applications.

The company didn't reveal the financial details of the transaction.
