California regulators Thursday approved a 90-megawatt power purchase agreement between Edison International's (EIX) electric utility and an Idaho wind farm owned by a unit of BP PLC (BP).

Under the 20-year agreement Southern California Edison will receive all the output from the Goshen Phase 2 wind farm in southeast Idaho, being developed by BP Wind Energy and Ridgeline Energy LLC., a unit of French clean energy company Veolia Environnement (VE). The contract includes the potential expansion of the wind farm to 130 megawatts.

The facility is scheduled to begin operations in October 2010, according to the California Public Utilities Commission.
