PLANO, Texas, Jan. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- A record-setting
fast touchdown during The Big Game could mean free pizza for pizza
lovers across America.
With help from superfast return specialist and former All-Pro
Devin Hester, Pizza Hut, which serves and delivers more pizzas than
any other pizza company in the world, is offering a one-of-a-kind
chance at free pizza if the record for fastest touchdown in the
history of The Big Game is broken on Sunday,
Feb. 4.
The current record of 14 seconds, held by Hester, was set in
2007. To be eligible to win, Pizza Hut is inviting America to join
its loyalty program – Hut Rewards – before kickoff and will give
the millions of members who joined before kickoff a free medium
two-topping pizza if the record is eclipsed on the Sunday of The
Big Game.
Since 2011, there have been 15 touchdowns scored in the first 14
seconds of a game, including regular season and playoffs.
"Like I said in my retirement announcement, I owe it all to my
speed," said Hester. "I'm teaming up with Pizza Hut to challenge
players in this year's Big Game to score a touchdown faster than I
did in 2007. If they do, and I hope they do, Hut Rewards
members will earn free pizza."
If the record is broken, Pizza Hut will deposit a free medium
two-topping pizza into the accounts of Hut Reward members to be
redeemed between Thursday, February 8
and Sunday, February 11 (including on
National Pizza Day, Friday, February
9). To be eligible for this "Score Free Pizza Faster
Promotion" from Pizza Hut, customers must be a Hut Rewards member
or sign up for membership before approximately 5:26 p.m. CT on February
4. Hut Rewards is open to all US residents age 13+.
The Hut Rewards program continues to be the
only national pizza rewards program to offer unlimited
points on every dollar customers spend on food online. New in 2018,
Hut Rewards members can now earn a free Medium Two-Topping pizza
for only 150 points, making Hut Rewards the faster way to earn free
pizza. In addition, members can earn a free Medium ANY™ Pizza for
200 points and a free Large ANY™ Pizza for 250 points.
"When we launched Hut Rewards in 2017, we were committed to
bringing the best loyalty program in the pizza category to our
customers," said Zipporah Allen, VP
Brand Marketing and Consumer Insights, Pizza Hut, U.S. "The new
150-point redemption level allows members to earn a free pizza even
faster, while continuing to offer program benefits they love
including unlimited points on every online purchase."
New customers can visit PizzaHut.com, click on the Hut Rewards
program opt-in and complete a brief profile to simultaneously
create a digital account and enroll in Hut Rewards. Existing Pizza
Hut customers can simply sign into their account and choose to
opt-in to the Hut Rewards program.
Once enrolled in the Hut Rewards program, customers can begin
earning points immediately, and every dollar spent on food online
goes toward a free pizza. Other benefits include exclusive offers,
birthday rewards, and more. Hut Rewards points can be earned and
redeemed during online or mobile orders only, for delivery or
carryout. Taxes, tips, donations and gift cards do not earn points.
Upon redemption, customer is responsible for all taxes, delivery
charges and delivery minimums that may apply. Additional charges
for extra cheese, pan crust and stuffed crust may apply. The "Score
Free Pizza Faster Promotion" is void where prohibited or restricted
by law.
