     it purchased for holding in treasury 141,000 ordinary shares 
     of 1p each at a price of 1,309.28 pence per share. 
    Following this transaction, the Company has 1,418,000 ordinary 
     shares held in treasury and 175,689,958 ordinary shares in circulation. 
     The total number of ordinary shares in issue is 177,107,958.
