LONDON--RSA Insurance Group PLC (RSA.LN) said Tuesday that it
has appointed Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC's (RBS.LN) former
chief executive Stephen Hester as its CEO with immediate
effect.
Martin Scicluna, chairman of RSA, who has been acting in an
executive capacity pending the appointment of a chief executive,
will revert to Non-Executive Chairman, RSA said.
Simon Lee resigned as chief executive of RSA in December after
it warned that troubles at its Irish unit will hit 2013
earnings.
Shares at 1625 GMT, were up 2 pence, or 2.3%, at 98 pence,
valuing the company at GBP3.61 billion ($5.91 billion).
