A CSX Corp. (CSX) train carrying coal partially derailed in Ellicott City, Md., early Tuesday, killing two people, according to local media reports.

Twenty-one cars of the 81-car train had derailed or overturned, the Baltimore Sun reported on its website. The derailment is the third accident by the rail carrier this month in Maryland.

The Associated Press reported that the two people killed were not railroad employees. Their identities have not been released.
