BP PLC said Tuesday that it has acquired California-based
electric vehicle charging and energy management provider AMPLY
Power for an undisclosed amount.
The London-listed energy major said that was its first major
step into electrification in the U.S., with AMPLY Power geared
toward fleets operating trucks, transit and school buses, as well
as vans and light-duty vehicles.
The company said the transaction was aligned with its plan to
scale-up next generation mobility solutions and that this included
the provision of a fast and reliable network of charging and
digital solutions for customers.
"This acquisition builds on significant investments in offshore
wind earlier this year in New England, onshore wind across seven
states and our rapidly growing presence in solar," the company
said.
