BAE Systems Inc., the U.S. unit of U.K. defense and aerospace giant BAE Systems PLC (BA.LN), on Thursday said it named Chief Operating Officer Tom Arseneault to the additional post of president.

The Arlington, Va., company said Mr. Arseneault, who will also join its board, succeeds Jerry DeMuro, who will continue as chief executive of the U.S. organization.

Mr. Arseneault joined BAE as part of the acquisition of Lockheed Martin Corp.'s (LMT) Sanders unit in 2000.

BAE's U.S.-based division has more than 33,000 employees and posted 2018 sales of about $10.8 billion in 2018.
