Notification of Transaction of Directors, Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility or Connected Persons

Alterian received notification today that on 24 January 2012 the following directors of the Company exercised ordinary shares of 25 pence each ("Ordinary Shares"):

Mr Heath Davies, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, exercised options over 1,207,000 Ordinary Shares at an exercise price of 75p per share. Following the above transaction, Mr Davies now holds an interest of 1,534,614 Ordinary Shares, representing 2.3% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Mr Guy Millward, Finance Director of the Company, exercised options over 259,259 Ordinary Shares at an exercise price of 81p per share. Following the above transaction, Mr Millward now holds an interest of 264,927 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.4% of the issued share capital of the Company.
