TORONTO, Feb. 10, 2016 /CNW/ - Entertainment Tonight Canada is proud to announce that as of this evening, Jake Mossop will be joining the show as an on-air and digital entertainment reporter. Best known for his role in 1 Girl, 5 Gays, viewers will also recognize Jake as a regular ET Canada fashion panel contributor. A respected voice in fashion, health and pop culture, with a fervor for social media, Jake will be covering the latest entertainment news and events from ET Canada's Toronto-based studio.

"We are thrilled that Jake is joining the ET Canada team," says Sholeh Fabbri, ET Canada's executive producer. "He brings a fresh perspective, a dynamic energy and a mega watt smile that I'm sure our audience across all platforms will love instantly."

"Jake joins ET Canada at an exciting time as the show continues to expand its online presence as a dominant digital destination for entertainment news," says Phil Piazza, VP Global TV Programming, Marketing & Digital Content Acquisitions Shaw Media. "ETCanada.com is constantly evolving, with more up-to-the-moment red carpet coverage, behind-the-scenes exclusives, and extended interviews than ever before."

Born and raised in the Toronto suburb of Newmarket, Ontario, Jake's television career began in 2010 when he was invited to join the late-night talk show 1 Girl, 5 Gays. A Registered Nurse specializing in inner-city health, he jumped at the opportunity as a way to reach beyond his regular practice and promote healthy lifestyles to a wider audience. A natural on-air personality, Jake appeared as a regular panelist throughout the show's six seasons. Television has since evolved into a second career for Jake who went on to join MTV's The After Show (Jersey Shore and Snooki & JWOWW editions) and Vancouver's Outlook TV.

"I am excited to be joining Canada's top entertainment news team," says Jake Mossop. "I look forward to bringing my unique perspective and passion for fashion, health, and celebrity culture to the stories I cover for ET Canada on air and online."

Jake Mossop makes his ET Canada debut tonight at 7:30pm ET/PT on Global and will be a regular member of the on-air team with a strong presence on ETCanada.com.
