Verigy (NASDAQ: VRGY), a premier semiconductor test company, today announced that it had collaborated with MicroProbe, NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA), Tokyo Electron (8035 TSE), and Rudolph Technologies (NASDAQ: RTEC) to create a turnkey solution for the production of digital, SOC and RF devices using Verigy's V93000 Direct-Probe™ solution. This cooperative development program is successfully supporting a growing installed-base of over 200 V93000 Direct-Probe solutions worldwide.

Verigy's V93000 Direct-Probe solution delivers several key benefits, including higher bandwidth and greater signal integrity for high speed signals. Additionally, the V93000 Direct-Probe solution offers more component application space for on-board loopback and a fully integrated wafer prober interface using one printed circuit interface board that can be compatible for probe test and final test. The V93000 Direct-Probe is supported by prober suppliers, probe card analysis equipment suppliers and fine pitch probe technology suppliers.

"Our long-standing relationship with Verigy enabled the MicroProbe development groups to target our Apollo™ and MEMS product families for high-probe count applications on the Verigy Direct-Probe Solution," said Mike Slessor, president and chief executive officer of MicroProbe. "In addition, our investment in infrastructure, including the Rudolph Technologies Vx4 probe card metrology system, allowed us to support our key customers in rapidly ramping production on the high-performance Direct-Probe Solution."

"NVIDIA selected the Verigy V93000 Direct-Probe solution because of its lower cost-of-test," said Deb Shoquist, executive vice president of operations of NVIDIA. "In addition, our need for higher electrical performance at probe influenced the decision to work with Verigy and its strategic partners."

"All of the Direct-Probe partners cooperated in a challenging innovation program, a contributing factor in the development of our PrecisionWoRx® VX4 Probe Card Test and Analysis System," said Nathan Little, executive vice president and general manager of Rudolph's Inspection Business Unit. "Our VX4 System enables probe card suppliers to build and repair high performance probe solutions that are Verigy Direct-Probe ready."

"Because we started working early in the design process of the V93000 Direct-Probe solution, we were able to provide a superior platform for Verigy's high performance probe requirement," said Yuichi Abe, General Manager of TEL Test Systems Division. "The stability and accuracy of our Precio series of fully automatic wafer probes enables electrical performance never available for high pin count production wafer test before Direct-Probe."

"Verigy is pleased to be leading the way with our V93000 Direct-Probe solution," said Hans-Juergen Wagner, executive vice president SOC test of Verigy. "Our complete turnkey solution to test CPU, graphics processors, digital baseband devices and WLCSP consumer devices has enabled cost-effective performance probe capability."
