PARIS--French car-part maker Plastic Omnium (POM.FR) said its
net profit in the first half of the year rose as a result of
increased activity in Western Europe and Asia.
The company said net profit rose 12% to 108 million euros ($145
million) after overall sales rose 3.8% to EUR3.67 billion. Sales in
Western Europe, excluding France, rose 21%, while in Asia they
increased 3.1%.
The company benefited from stronger demand for its products to
supply parts for car models made by Volkswagen AG, Renault and
Peugeot.
