Jeep on Friday said it created the Jeep 4xe Charging Network and
will install EV Level 2 chargers at trailheads across the U.S.
"Jeep-branded EV charging stations will be installed at or near
the trailheads of Jeep Badge of Honor off-road trails over the next
year, allowing owners to take full-advantage of their electrified
Jeep SUV," the vehicle maker said.
Jeep 4xe owners will get free charging via a custom mobile app,
the company said.
The company said the first charging stations would be installed
at Moab, Rubicon Trail and Big Bear and will be operational this
spring.
Jeep said it is partnering with Electrify America on the
project, and Electrify America will run the network.
The creation of the network coincides with the launch of the
2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid, the vehicle maker said.
