--Daimler's chief executive Ola Kaellenius is considering the sale of about 25 Mercedes car retailers and workshops in England, Spain and Belgium to reduce fixed costs, German newspaper Handelsblatt reports, citing unnamed sources.

--The company could raise from 30 million to 40 million euros ($36.5 million-$48.7 million) from each site, so the income generated from the sale could reach EUR1 billion, the paper reports.

--Daimler confirmed that it is examining the sale of the sites, adding that a sale doesn't mean a closure of them, but declined to comment on how much it would raise from the deals.
