Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK.MZ) said Monday that third-quarter sales increased 4% on year on the back of strong growth in external markets.

The Russian steel producer's quarterly sales totaled 4.4 million metric tons, with growth driven by sales of slabs, square billets and long products, as well as increases in higher-value-added product sales to international markets.

Sales rose 1% from the previous quarter, the company said.

Sales to home markets fell 5% on year, while external-market ones increased 13%, Novolipetsk said.

Steel output was 4.4 million tons for the period, flat on year and up 1% on quarter, Novolipetsk said.
