Dow Jones News
Baggage handlers, cleaners and refuelling workers at Manchester
Airport have voted to take strike action, the U.K.'s biggest labor
union said Thursday.
Unite said 300 members employed by Swissport, Rentokil Initial
PLC (RTO.LN) and ASAI, which provides refueling services for Royal
Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA), took part in separate ballots and voted in
favor of striking.
Unite is seeking an urgent meeting with Swissport management in
an attempt to settle the dispute, which involves pay deals, and
avoid industrial action. Further talks are planned with Rentokil
Initial on Friday and ASIG on Monday ahead of the August Bank
Holiday weekend.
