NEW YORK, March 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- J.P. Morgan Asset
Management today announced the launch of the 2020 Guide to
Alternatives, providing an objective analysis of the key themes
impacting alternative investments. In its second year, the
quarterly Guide offers insights into macro themes across
alternatives such as fundraising and manager dispersion, while also
drilling down into sub-asset classes including real estate,
infrastructure and transport, private credit, private equity and
hedge funds.
"Demand for alternatives continues to gather pace as investors
seek new opportunities to reduce volatility and enhance portfolio
returns. In our second year publishing Guide to Alternatives, we
continue to work to deliver uniquely objective insights to enable
informed investment decisions," said Anton
Pil, Manager Partner, J.P. Morgan Global Alternatives.
"There has historically been a lack of insight in the alternative
space, and we believe access to information is a critical step in
the process for those looking to leverage alternatives as a means
of building resilient portfolios."
"At a time when the investment environment remains delicate, the
2020 Guide to Alternatives gives investors a framework for both
evaluating and implementing alternatives into portfolios," said
David Lebovitz, Global Market
Strategist, J.P. Morgan Asset Management. "With 2020 expected to be
a year of moderate growth, contained inflation and accommodative
policy, the Guide highlights opportunities for investors to
generate robust return streams without materially adding to a
portfolio's equity risk."
The 1Q20 Guide to Alternatives reveals several key themes:
1. U.S. Real
Estate
Opportunity exists beyond
industrial real estate to areas like flex office, retail and data
centers
2.
Infrastructure
Both headwinds and tailwinds
remain in renewable energy
3. Private
Equity
Dry powder remains, as elevated
PE multiples become the new normal
4. Private
Credit
Investors need to set realistic
return expectations
