FirstEnergy Foundation presented surprise $5,000 "Gifts of the Season" to four non-profit
agencies that are working to make lives better in Maryland and West
Virginia communities served by FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE)
utilities Mon Power and Potomac Edison.
Potomac Edison service area
recipients include:
- Horses with Heart, Martinsburg
– Provides equine-assisted activities to individuals of all ages
with special needs.
- United Way of Frederick
County, Frederick – Funds
will be used to build a new community playground.
Mon Power service area recipients include:
- Saddles & Smiles, Charles
Town and Kearneysville –
Provides a therapeutic riding club for disabled children.
- Jack Strong Foundation, Bridgeport – Provides financial and moral
support to families that have children who have been impacted by
childhood cancer.

secretly by FirstEnergy employees, who identified organizations in

children's services or provide additional support for organizations

The FirstEnergy Foundation's "Gifts of the Season" campaign
includes 17 individual donations to non-profit organizations across
FirstEnergy's six-state service territory. Photos of FirstEnergy's
