French Ministerial Aide Appointed New Head of Arianespace

European space launch services company Arianespace said Thursday
its board has nominated Stephane Israel to the post of chairman and
chief executive.
MAIN FACTS:
- Mr. Israel is currently the chief of staff of French Industry
Minister Arnaud Montebourg.
- The position of chief executive at Arianespace has been vacant
since its previous occupant, Jean-Yves Le Gall, was appointed to
head the French national space agency CNES earlier this month.
- Prior to taking his ministerial job last May, Mr. Israel
worked in the aerospace industry in 2007 as advisor to European
Aeronautic Defence & Space Co (EAD.FR) chief executive Louis
Gallois, and later worked for Astrium, EADS' space business
division.
