Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has kicked off the application period for
the fourth annual Accenture HealthTech Innovation
Challenge, which seeks to support innovative approaches and
solutions for improving the way people access, manage and finance
healthcare in North America. The submission form, including
additional details about the challenge's criteria, eligibility and
requirements, is available at: Accenture HealthTech
Innovation Challenge-Health.
“We look forward to this year’s submissions as we continue to
identify bold ideas from startups that deliver new solutions for
health organizations to improve the lives of consumers, clinicians
and employees,” said Brian Kalis, managing director of
digital health and innovation at Accenture. “Since its inception,
the Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge has brought
healthcare organizations and startups together to tackle the
world’s biggest health issues where we have received more than
2,200 applications, invited more than 90 startups to compete and
who have benefitted from the guidance of nearly 1,000 executive
judges from the healthcare industry.”
“The Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge helps us discover
and engage with the very best digital health startups - companies
that are helping tackle some of the key challenges healthcare faces
today,” said Jonathan R. Slotkin, M.D., FAANS, associate chief
medical informatics officer and clinical professor of neurosurgery
at Geisinger Health System. “The event also provides a forum for us
to connect with other healthcare leaders and companies to
collaboratively shape the evolution of the healthcare
industry.”
Emerging healthcare technology innovators and disruptors that
provide their services and solutions in North America are
encouraged to apply for the program by clicking here.
Submissions from eligible companies will be accepted through 11:59
p.m. ET on Sept 22. The three categories for this year’s Accenture
HealthTech Innovation Challenge are:
- Operational Efficiency: This includes solutions that
look to increase enterprise efficiency and core day-to-day
processes. Examples include back office solutions, patient, data
and distribution management.
- Increased Access: This encompasses solutions that expand
access to services and treatments for health organizations.
Examples include virtual care, digital therapeutics, home and
remote healthcare delivery models.
- Consumer Experience: Solutions in this category should
focus on creating positive consumer experiences. Examples include
solutions that improve wellbeing, care coordination, disease
prevention and chronic condition management.
Accenture is seeking applications that are focused on healthcare
organization buyers. Key criteria for applicants include solution
innovations, solution design quality, disruptive business models,
and solution scalability. Health organizations are defined as
public health entities, private payers, provider systems, delivery
networks, retail health companies and organizations that
participate in the health care delivery and payment ecosystem.
Selected finalists will present to an exclusive panel of judges
comprised of senior executives from globally recognized health
companies at one of two regional events held in Boston on Nov. 7 or

judging event will take place in Houston on Feb. 6, 2020.
