Superconductor Technologies Inc. to Participate in the 2014 Superconductivity for Energy Conference May 15th to 19th
May 13 2014 - 6:30AM
Superconductor Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:SCON) ("STI"), a world
leader in the development and production of high temperature
superconducting (HTS) materials and associated technologies, will
exhibit its Conductus® superconducting wire at the
Superconductivity for Energy (S4E) conference being held May
15th-19th in Paestum, Italy. STI will present a poster on Low-Cost
2G HTS Coated Conductors Scale-Up at STI during the conference
poster session Friday, May 16th at 5:20 p.m. local time.
The S4E conference brings together experts in the field of high
power applications of superconductors, high field magnet
technology, power devices (motors, superconducting magnetic energy
storage, fault current limiters) and high current applications.
Topics will cover how superconducting can be used in various power
grid applications including power generation, transmission and
distribution, storage applications, transformers and fault current
limiters. Presentations will address the potential of
superconducting solutions to relieve many stranded grid assets and
provide an efficient, adaptive mesh topology that is well suited
for the future Smart Grid.
"We will be meeting with customers and other thought leaders at
S4E as they focus on the success of superconducting devices that
will modernize the electric power industry," said Adam Shelton,
STI's VP of Marketing and Product Line Management. "STI's Conductus
wire is a high current carrying conductor that provides dramatic
performance improvements, higher power density, smaller size, high
efficiency and significant cost benefits over traditional copper
wire. We look forward to increasing awareness of Conductus as an
attractive alternative for improving the value proposition of
superconducting electrical devices."

wire; customer acceptance of our HTS wire; fluctuations in product
demand from quarter to quarter; the impact of competitive filter
products, technologies and pricing; manufacturing capacity
constraints and difficulties; our ability to raise sufficient
capital to fund our operations, and the impact on our strategic
wire initiative of any inability to raise such funds; the impact of
any such financing activity on the level of our stock price, and
local, regional, and national and international economic conditions
and events and the impact they may have on us and our customers,
