Italian energy company Sorgenia SpA, which is owned by CIR SpA (CIR.MI) and Austrian power generator Verbund AG (VER.VI), Wednesday said it signed an agreement with six banks for a 10-year loan of EUR600 million to finance investments in new generation capacity.

In a statement, CIR said the pool of banks was made up of Mediobanca SpA (MB.MI), Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BMPS.MI), Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (ISP.MI), UniCredit SpA (UCG.MI), WestLB AG and Banca Popolare di Lodi SpA.

The interest rate is based on the euro interbank offered rate plus a margin in line with current market conditions, it said.
