Banco Santander SA (SAN.MC) said Tuesday that Aegon NV (AGN.AE) will become its insurance partner in Spain for life-risk and certain general-insurance policies following the integration of Banco Popular.

The agreement reached between the two companies is subject to the termination of the existing partnership between Banco Popular and Allianz SE (ALV.XE), Santander said.

The Spanish bank said it doesn't expect the impact of the agreement to be material to its results.
