Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA) suffered a small fire at the Scotford refinery near Edmonton, Alberta, a spokesman said Friday.

The fire occurred on Thursday in one unit of the oil-sands upgrader and was quickly extinguished. The other sections of the 255,000-barrel-a-day plant are operating normally and there will be no material effect on production, the spokesman said.
