Atlantic Coal plc ("Atlantic Coal" or the "Company")

Further trading update for the nine months ended 30 September 2015

Further to the trading update announced by the Company on 1 October 2015, the Board of Atlantic Coal, the AIM listed anthracite coal mining company operating in Pennsylvania, USA is pleased to announce that its unaudited turnover for the nine months ended 30 September 2015 has increased by circa 26% to approximately $17.8 million. Unaudited turnover for the nine months ended 30 September 2014 was approximately $14.1 million.

At the current time Atlantic Coal is experiencing a number of positive factors, such as:

   i.    continuing high levels of production and sales for both clean coal and run of mine coal; 
   ii.    healthy level of inventory going into the high demand winter period; 
   iii.   increasing sales prices as from 12 October by $10/ton on clean coal; and 
   iv.   increasing efficiencies in production and transport.

The trading performance to the end of September 2015 and the above factors gives the Board of Atlantic Coal confidence that the Company's turnover for the second half of the current year will at least match the first half's turnover.

Commenting, Atlantic Coal's Managing Director Steve Best said:

"I am pleased to report an excellent increase in turnover for the nine months to 30 September 2015, reflecting our impressive year-on-year increase in production and sales, as reported on 1(st) October 2015. Compared with the same period in 2014 we have increased turnover by over $3.7 million, an increase of circa 26%. This amount is only just short of the total turnover for 2014 of US$18.4 million and we therefore look forward to exceeding our 2014 revenues in 2015. Going forward, we intend to include estimates of the Company's unaudited turnover within our quarterly updates".

Atlantic Coal owns and operates the Stockton anthracite mine ("Stockton"), located near Hazleton, Pennsylvania.
